Should Maryland farmers be required to submit what pesticides they use to a state-run database? Could that database help researchers answer public health concerns over pesticide use? Last week, Governor O*Malley signed a bill that will create a workgroup to answer those questions.
Sheilah talks with Ruth Berlin, Executive Director of the Maryland Pesticide Network, which has fought for the creation of a database and Valerie Connelly from the Maryland Farm Bureau, which opposes a database.
Both groups will be a part of the workgroup.
